Wilbur Lake, out of Edison, California over the Goodale pass. The lake is at about 9,000 ft and about 45 minutes out of Grassy Meadow. Good fishing, trout run about 16 to 24 inches, catch them from the bank. This is a friend of mine that pulled one small one out.
Was on a trip to work on the trail down by Grassy.

This is the entrance to the Lost Mine that is located between Grassy and Jackson Meadow in the Sierra National Forest over the Silver Divide at about 8,000 ft. All the equipment was packed in by mule, they mined gold and silver. Hasn't been mined for a number of years, there is a lot of gold there but the only way in or out is by horse back or mule - however you like to ride. |
